Vaccine Passports will be required for admittance.

We recognize that transmission rates for outdoor activities are low. However, the unique nature of the winter sleigh ride show necessitates that we take this step to protect our actors and the experience for our audience members.

For our production of Joyride, the actors and audience will travel together on the sleighs to create a festive, engaging, immersive theatre experience. This close interaction is a critical component of our show, and the winter sleigh ride show tradition.

We have a responsibility to our artists to provide them with a safe and supported work environment, and we have a responsibility to our audience to maintain the standard of excellence that has made the Winter Sleigh Ride Show a cherished family tradition.

We feel the best way to fulfill these responsibilities is to implement the mandatory vaccine passport.

The  basics of keeping each other safe in our venue remain the same:

  • Proof of full vaccination is required for those aged 12+
  • Face coverings will be required when social distancing is not possible. In line at the concession, around the fires, and on the sleighs.
  • Stay home if you are sick
  • Maintain social distancing
  • Wash hands and/or use hand sanitizer regularly

All of our safety protocols listed below have been developed in consultation with WorkSafe BC and ActSafe BC, our theatrical safety guidance association. Our best practice guidelines conform to the current PHO and we developed them in consultation with the safety concerns of our local community, employees and industry peers.

  • Box Office will maintain the lists of patrons per performance, in case of contact tracing needs
  • Masks are mandatory in all indoor spaces
  • Sanitization stations will be provided upon arrival
  • Masks will be worn or glass partitioners will be required for all Caravan employees in close proximity to patrons
  • Washrooms will be sanitized throughout the evening
  • All audience members will be expected to maintain social distancing when possible
