Join us for an IMMERSIVE, SITE SPECIFIC, MAGICAL experience of THE FALL OF THE HOUSE OF USHER! Oh, and it’s funny, too.

This fresh adaptation by ESTELLE SHOOK and RYAN BEIL (Richard III, The Bear and The Proposal, a Midwinter Night’s Dream) features an enchanting score by award winning composer BROOKE MAXWELL (Ride the Cyclone), spectacular set and costume design by CATHERINE HAHN (Macbeth, IOU Land, The Ballad of Weedy Peetstraw, The Blue Horse), atmospheric lighting by JILLIAN WHITE (Blackhorse, The Bear and The Proposal). And introducing… the puppet making wizardry of JESSICA HICKMAN!

“The Fall of the House of Usher” is one of the Caravan Theatre’s greatest creations in my view. The script by Estelle Shook and Ryan Beil is both funny and terrifying at the same time. The Caravan is famous for making great, creative use of space in the outdoors. This show makes brilliant use of the “rain venue” transformed into the House of Usher which the audience enters through the front door. The puppetry is amazing and acting is first rate. The opening scenes (15 minutes) take place in the yard, followed by a two-minute, mostly level 200 metre walk to the main show site. A short cut (130 meters) is available for those who would like to minimize their steps. For those who cannot make either of these walks, we can provide transport in our Caravan van.

The site is wheelchair accessible, and front row seating will be available. Please notify our box office when you book your tickets so we can set aside these seats for you.

Come early for a fireside drink and snack. The lobby will open one hour before the showtime. Our lobby fires will be crackling and there will be benches and picnic tables available.

Bar and Concession will be serving BNA Brewery ales, including the famous Back Hand of God (IYKYK), Arrowleaf Field Collection wines, Hot apple Cider, Okanagan Spirits Pear Brandy, vodka dn spiced whiskey, Hot Chocolate and Irish cream, Rancho Vignola snacks, Helmuts Sausage pepperoni.

All Caravan Farm Theatre performances are held outdoors. In the event of rain the show will be relocated to our dry and covered Rain Venue, ensuring that you see the full show in comfort.

WINTER SHOW COMFORT TIPS

The Winter Sleigh Ride Show is staged outdoors and lasts about one hour, so please dress accordingly.
Gates open 30 minutes prior to show time.
We recommend that you bring blankets or cushions to keep you extra cosy.
There is a cash-only concession with hot drinks and snacks.
We have heated, wheelchair-accessible washrooms.
Mobility parking is located at the end of the parking lot closest to the box office booth and is marked with blue signs.
Patrons in wheelchairs must be accompanied by someone to assist them into the sleigh. Wheelchairs are not permitted on sleighs or wagons.
Dogs are not permitted at shows. please leave them at home rather than in your car.
Tickets will not be refunded or rebooked due to illness, weather or road closures.
Caravan Farm Theatre is located in the countryside North-West of Armstrong. Please factor this into your driving time. If you have not visited before, we recommend that you print out a map (click for a Google map) and have it with you when you drive.
Please be prepared for winter driving conditions and allow extra driving time for winter conditions, as shows will not be held for latecomers.
