An Immersive Sound Walk
Featuring KINSHIRA
We have made the difficult decision to postpone this production. Yet again! Our financial situation is such that we cannot take on the (substantial) risk that such an ambitious production represents. Even if we scaled it back it would not be feasible. We apologize to all of you who have been looking forward to this event – we have been working on it now for two years – we have an incredible binaural soundscape and a wildly immersive design concept that we are so looking forward to sharing with you. However, these Sound walk productions barely break even, and we simply cannot afford to mount this production with our current bank account in the shape it’s in.
These are tough times for arts organizations – we were the first to close down when the pandemic hit, and we are proving to be among the last to recover. Our finances have taken a severe beating and each year since 2021 we’ve plotted a strategic course to adapt to this new reality, only to be sideswiped by fires and heat domes!
So, for the next month we are going into a huddle. Not spending any money. Taking this time to assess how we move forward: analyzing the data, talking to community, doing some soul searching to figure out how we adapt to this new environment. How we meet this moment. It may mean structural changes to our company, it may mean programming changes. We are not sure yet. We will share when we know. It is our hope that we will be in a position to bring this production of Labyrinth to you soon.
We will be going forward with our Winter Sleigh Ride Show, tickets go on sale Oct 18.
Thank you for your understanding.

What is an Immersive Audio Walk?
A blend of site specific theatre, complete with live performers and a full production design, which is experienced over 3 kms through the woods and fields, while listening to a binaural audio play.
What is spatial sound?
Spatial sound is an enhanced and immersive audio experience where sounds can flow around you in three-dimensional space. This may give you a sense that a sound or audio is coming from a space in front, beside, or even above or below you.
How will I listen to the soundwalk?
You will be given a sanitized MP3 player and over ear headphones with an explanation of how and when to use it.
Can I remove the headphones while on the walk?
Yes – but please do not pause, restart, or skip the audio in any way. If you would like the full and immersive experience that this was created for, we recommend that you leave them in. The audio will give you directions on paths to go on and turns to make.
What if it Rains?
We are a hardy bunch and will go ahead with the Walk of Terror in almost all conditions, excepting a severe thunderstorm. Weather conditions are changeable, so we don’t make a call to cancel until the evening of the event. We recommend bringing an umbrella in case of light rain.
Is Labyrinth accessible?
The path is not wheelchair accessible.
Are Pets Allowed?
With the exception of service animals, no pets are allowed.
Is Labyrinth kid-friendly?
The themes and images in this year’s walk are mature. The narrative is built to arouse extreme anxiety, and some of the imagery is graphic in nature. We recommend ages 13+.
Sound can provide an intense and surreal experience, so if at any time your family becomes frightened, we simply recommend you to take one or both headphones out and to keep walking.
If you have concerns or questions, please call our Box Office!
