THE HOCKEY SWEATER
A Canadian classic, The Hockey Sweater by Roch Carrier, bursts off the page and onto the ice as our Winter Sleigh Ride Show. Created by Cirque du Soleil Director Manon Beaudoin, who brings the joyful, raucous fun of an outdoor hockey game to this timeless tale of a child who just wants to fit in, and a mom trying her best to make her kid’s dream come true. Featuring a spectacular design by the team from A Midwinter Night’s Dream, Le Hockey Sweater is a celebration of all things Québécois… Allez!
WHAT AUDIENCES ARE SAYING: “My third year going! Every year a different adventure around the farm and this year did not disappoint! As we bobbed and weaved throughout the forest we felt transformed to the old times of lamp driven carriages! The stunts of Puck had the crowd in full gasps and awe! The costumes are by far the most stunning yet! Glistening and glimmering in the lights! Cannot wait to enjoy the magic again and again! See you all next year! Fantastic job again! Acting is A++ 12/10!” ~Lauralee V.
“Magical! Really got us all in the Christmas spirit, the actors were fantastic” ~Zoe H.
Now in our 38th year, the Winter Sleigh Ride Show is a beloved Okanagan holiday tradition. Horse drawn sleighs transport artists and audience alike over field and forest from scene to scene, where ideas are lit like flames against the darkness. Join our cast, crew, teamsters and horses as we embark on a spectacular theatrical journey together.
“magic in the okanagan” – I did not expect to feel like I stepped into the wardrobe of Narnia when I arrived to Caravan Farm Theatre …but this experience surpassed ALL our expectations. My husband and I kept looking at each other and whispering..“how did we not know about this sooner.. this is SURREAL!”
EXPERIENCE THE MAGIC FOR YOURSELF!
Fires will be crackling, music will be playing, and our concession will be serving an array of locally produced seasonal treats such as our famous hot cider and Okanagan Spirits Pear Brandy. Climb aboard the sleighs and thrill to the beauty of a winter’s night out under the stars. After the performance, visit the magnificent horses in the Decagon.
The Winter Sleigh Ride Show sells out quickly.
